Sustainable Success: How a Healthy Lifestyles Coach Helps You Thrive

Each member of our team has a unique skill set, and we will match you with the perfect one-to-one coach to motivate you all the way to achieving your goals.

With that said, you will have your very own accountability partner with you every step of the way along your journey to a healthier you. One of our Senior Health Coaches here at Healthy Lifestyles (HLS), Daniel, recently provided his perspective on how a HLS Coach helps you thrive when achieving your health and well-being goals.

What impact do you have on your clients?

In my experience, most people already have the answers they need to achieve their health and lifestyle goals, it’s simply my role to try to shine a light on this through conversation. From that point on, I am there to support, encourage and keep them accountable on their journey.

How do you think your role helps individuals within the Coventry community ‘thrive together’?

What’s your favourite thing about being a HLS coach?

The lightbulb moment - once someone realises what they need to do, or why they are struggling to do it, things tend to click into place for that person.

How do you personally stay motivated to make healthy choices?

Like a lot of people, I am goal-oriented, so having something to work towards such as a fitness goal keeps me accountable to my daily health and lifestyle habits.

What’s been the highlight of your coaching career so far?

There have been many, but one that stands out is a client who was receiving ongoing treatment for chronic pain. Through small alterations in diet and exercise, they were able to exceed all expectations and go from walking only a few steps, to minutes at a time. 

What is your area of expertise in health coaching?

I am a registered Nutritionist and Sports Nutritionist.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to start making positive health changes?

The first step is the hardest - start where you are with what you have. Set a goal that’s so realistic that it’s almost too easy – you can always increase the difficulty later.

How do you tailor your coaching style to meet the individual needs of your client?

Each individual is different. The first thing I try to do is help them find their ‘why?’.
